Danske Bank Pleads Guilty to Fraud on U.S. Banks in a Multi-Billion Dollar Scheme to Access the U.S. Financial System.
Largest Bank in Denmark Agrees to Forfeit $2 Billion.
Danske Bank A/S (Danske Bank), a global financial institution headquartered in Denmark, pleaded guilty today and agreed to forfeit $2 billion to resolve the United States’ investigation into Danske Bank’s fraud on U.S. banks.
According to court documents, Danske Bank defrauded U.S. banks regarding Danske Bank Estonia’s customers and anti-money laundering controls to facilitate access to the U.S. financial system for Danske Bank Estonia’s high-risk customers, who resided outside of Estonia – including in Russia. The Justice Department will credit nearly $850 million in payments that Danske Bank makes to resolve related parallel investigations by other domestic and foreign authorities. Continues further down.

ANALYSIS INFORMATION FROM A EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE
Heravi and Khorrasani was interviewed by the Editor-in-chief who was part
of the PC2000 Seismic Project in the Persian Gulf
Heravi Khorrasani
Mojtaba Khorrasani
Petrofilm: Welcome, could you please tell us something about yourself, thank you.
Khorrasani: In the name of God, the beneficial, the merciful. I am Mojtaba Khorrasani and I am the Manager at the Geophysical Department at NIOC. I have Master of Science in Geophysics at Tehran University. I started to work at NIOC nineteen years ago.
Petrofilm: When did you start data acqusition in the Persian Gulf?
Khorrazani: We started data aquisition in the Persian Gulf forty years ago. We found many structures in that area. The largest structure of gas was found in the south of Pars. The reservoir of this structure is more than 300tcf (trillion cubic feet) of gas. We have also found many structures which contain oil. And certainly, we will continue the exploration of the Persian Gulf in the future.
Petrofilm: Could you please explain to us what is happening in the Persian Gulf today?
Khorrasani: Yes, right now there are many parts of the Persian Gulf that are being explored. This time we go all the way into the Oman Sea, and that is our first data acquisition in the area.
Petrofilm: Are you satisfied with the quality of the data?
Khorrasani: The quality of the data is very good. I am confident that after we have processed the data the result will be very satisfactory.
Petrofilm: There has been some very promising results in Block D, up at Hendijan (in the North) How is that work progressing, Mr. Khorrasani?
Khorrasani: There are two promising structures in the area of Hendijan. One of them is the Bareghansahr, and the other the Hendijan. The Hendijan field continues from land into the ocean.
I hope taht we will find new structures for oil and gas in these fields. (In 2001 Harald Dahle was in the Hendijan field and oil was found in Transition Zone 1, and the seismic data onboard Bin Hai 505 confirmed that.)

Ahmad Heravi
Petrofilm: Welcome, could you please tell us something about yourself, thank you.
Heravi: My name is Ahmad Heravi. I work in the supervision in the Geophysical Departement of NIOC. I started to work at NIOC twenty two years ago.
Petrofilm: Can you tell us something about the Persian Carpet seismic project which is taking place in the Persian Gulf right now, please.
Heravi: The PC2000 project is a contract between NIOC on on side and NOREX Group and MJF on the other side working for data aquisition and has so far produced one hundred thousand line kilometersallong the Iranian coast and in the Oman Sea.
Petrofilm: There are many seismic vessels involved in this project, I believe?
Heravi: Yes, and also we have the Iranian seismic vessel Pejwak included ikn the PC2000 Project, and our plan is to upgrade it to 3D seismic. BGP contributes with three seismic vessels, the Bin Hai 504, Bin Hai 517 and Hai Shi 1. As you know, Norway contributes with two seismic vessels, Geo Mariner and Odin Explorer.
Petrofilm: How much is done of the project by now?
Heravi: About seventy percent of the project has been completed by now. We expect the remaining part will be completed by June 2001.
